Flu Shot Goals

Our flu shot numbers compared to this time last year are actually up by 35%.

But corporate isn't happy because we're not at the arbitrary goal that was set for us.

I can't tell you how much this upsets me.

This was written on a denied prescription refill request and faxed back to us.

I think it says the patient needs labs and an office visit and to schedule ASAP.

But those last two words look a lot like "Suicide ASAP."

Let's hope not.

How to Make Kids Smile for a Flu Shot

All you have to do is draw a little face on your gloved hand. Use your imagination. Call it "Mr. Flu Bug" or something crazy. Make it say stupid silly things in a stupid silly voice.

"I'm Mr. Flu Bug and I'm going to get you!" Then make your little face pretend to bite the child.

Then say something in your normal voice "Let's make Mr. Flu Bug go away by giving you a little shot!"

Give them the shot, then reveal the hidden surprise:
