It's Not Me, It's YOU

Dear MEDCO, ESI, or whatever you call yourself now,

We need to talk. Come sit down for a minute.

I think it's time we see other people. You don't seem to understand me in the slightest. You've lost all care and concern for me and my patients. You're only interested in yourself and you just use me as an income source.

I don't like the way you treat me. First you use some automated system to get my NPI number, the patient ID number, date of birth, and Rx number. I do all this at your request, time and time again, and then when I get to talk to you, you ask me for all this information AGAIN! Why do you treat me this way? Why?

Just the other day I called you to discuss a "vacation override." The patient had already called you. Her doctor had already called you. Then when I call, you tell me you don't handle that! You transfer me to another department which says they don't handle it and they transfer me back to you? Why do you play these mind games with me? Why?

I've always done what you ask! Always! And now you're giving me a charge back because the doctor wants the patient to have 100 test strips in 90 days? It's almost like you don't even understand health care? Was it ever about us? No, it never was. It was only about you!

So I've had enough. I've been "addicted to a certain kind of insurance madness. It's been like a resignation to the end, always the end." But then I realized: it's not me, it's you. I hope you find happiness, but I have to tell you, until you change your ways, you'll have nothing but more breakups in the future.

Signed,

Goofmart Pharmacy

p.s. I'll be needing my CDs back. Please leave them by the front door.

  1. Hard to break up with something that no longer exists. Blame the Express Scripts Way for your experiences.
