You often write about how "the authorities" want you guys to pimp the flu shot like it's no one's business, to the point where they force you to bug the crap out of patients, trying to cajole them into getting it done. Seeing as how the effectiveness of the flu shot is limited in comparison to previous years, have you seen a dip in the number of people requesting the flu shots? And, looking ahead, are you anticipating nonsense from "the authorities" for not meeting flu shot quotas because of this? Will trench pharmacist heads roll? Will you be receiving passive-aggressive e-mails and conference calls? I mean, after all, in your role at the local pharmacy I can only assume management thinks that you have the ability to change what the CDC is sharing with the public regarding the vaccine.
The Authorities have backed off on flu shots, probably because we did a lot more flu shots than they expected for this year AND the fact that the flu shot does not match the prevailing strain as well this year.
However, they did switch gears and immediately start pushing companion shots like Pneumovax and Prevnar.
