Ring... ring...
“Goofmart Pharmacy, We don't mingle with Shingles. Get immunized today! May I help you?”
“Is this the pharmacy?”
“Yes, this is Goofmart PHARMACY.”
“You’re the Goofmart Pharmacy by Flea Circus Grocers and Wagmart, right?”
“Yes, on Elm and Wingleberry.”
“Does your location have a pharmacy in the store?”
At this point I start laughing. I’ve answered the phone Goofmart PHARMACY, verified it twice, and then I get this dumbass question.
“Well you don’t have to be rude!” she blurts out and hangs up.
Seriously?
Well, to be fair, in college a friend of mine worked for a CVS Pharmacy. They answered the phone by calling it CVS Pharmacy. There was no pharmacy inside that store. It was inside a mall, it sold typical CVS items, including OTC meds, but you could not get a prescription filled there.
ReplyDeleteThat’s really a stupid comment above. RxMan answered the phone with the name of the pharmacy and mentioned vaccinations. He repeated it. Stores that call themselves a pharmacy and don’t have a pharmacy probably amount to 1/100000 of all locations. Poor RxMan now you have another person to worry about that votes: from the comment above.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 8:33, did you read the comment? It clearly said that the phones at the CVS were answered by calling it CVS Pharmacy. It wasn't a stupid comment, it was a factual comment. Why do you think facts are stupid?
ReplyDelete2nd person who commented, I see you have reading comprehension problems. I'm so sorry about your education. Perhaps you should think about getting some tutoring and perhaps getting a GED...I know if you put your mind to it you can do it.
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems with writing a blog is that you're "in the moment" so to speak and what seems clear to you might not be clear to the reader.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about CVS stores, but they really shouldn't be answering the phone "CVS Pharmacy" if there isn't a full service pharmacy in the store. With this story, the background is that there are very few Goofmart GROCERY stores that do NOT have a pharmacy inside them. There are two in my state, but the vast majority have a pharmacy inside the store. I would venture to say that most people who live in the area know that. In this case, I didn't answer the phone "Goofmart Grocery." I answered the phone "Goofmart PHARMACY," and as the one comment points out, I mentioned vaccinations... which is not something the grocery would be providing. In my mind there was absolutely no question that a pharmacy answered the phone and that's why I laughed when she asked if we have a pharmacy. I think the lady hung up because she was embarrassed about how silly she sounded. Whatever the deal, I have completely failed to explain the silliness of the situation. It was one of those "you had to be there" moments, I guess.
She just failed to get your sense of humor. But I did! ROTFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with anonymous at 8:33 -- don't really get the comments by the 1st and 3rd posters...(3rd and 4th are same person)
