Aubrey is 90 years old.  She recently had surgery to repair a hiatal hernia.  I ask her how things went.  She says it was complicated because her intestines were all wrapped up around her esophagus.

Yes, I kept a straight face.  It was really hard.  Really.

Had a lady come in to our Animal Hospital that told us that she'd recently had open heart surgery. Her heart had been so swollen that the surgeon had been unable to fit it back into her chest, and they had to leave it out on the counter for three days to let the swelling go down before they could put off back in her chest. We imagine it sitting out in the nurses' station next to the coffee machine.
