This has happened to me many, many times. Based on the number of people that liked this tweet, I'm guessing that it's happened a lot everywhere.
So what's the deal? I'm not closing. I'm CLOSED. The pharmacy is closed. We've been here open at least 12 out of 24 hours of the day, but you can't manage your time to take care of your pharmacy business during that ONE HALF of the entire day?
And like most pharmacies, we've had a long day. We're done. Over and out. Kaput. Finished. We shouldn't hang a sign that says CLOSED. This is the sign we should hang:

I am looking for a specific flavor of OTC antacids. We have a shallow, in-the-mall pharmacy that closes at 7. I walked into the mall, remembered my quest and as soon as I saw the closed gate, I revised my plan to 'look through the chain link.'
The Pharmacist was walking out and locking and before he could even comment I told him that I could see he was closed and I had no intention or need to walk in. He asked what I was looking for, directed me to the correct aisle and after locking, walked down to make sure I found it.
More than was needed, but exactly what was appropriate - because he not only was helpful to the honest, but could have been a witness to the guilty. Kudos to him.
And no, they don't have it...

I like the question "are you closed" when the lights are off, the gate is down and we definetly have our coats on to leave, usually the added customer response is "I thought you closed at 9 p.m." (we close at 5:30 on weekends), it's always amazing how customers can't read the hours posted
The best is when they call a few hours before you close, ask when you close, scream at you for not having 'all my subscriptions (seriously, not a typo) ready' then declaring that they'll be 'right there.'
Fast forward to 5-10 minutes after close.
Guess who's pounding on the locked door and threatening to call corporate?
Yeah, awesome.
On the weekends, our mantra is "we close at six" as we have every Sat/Sun since 2001. If even one person shows up as we are closing, I can guarantee that a line will form behind them of folks who "just need to pick up". So about 20 minutes later, we are finally leaving. Then we have to explain our OT to the DM.
